Pre-design
Prior to embarking upon a design commission, careful consideration is given to the requirements of the client
An initial consultation visit provides an opportunity for the designer and the owner of the space to discuss their needs and wants, as well as the constraints and function of the garden
There is a nominal charge for this visit to cover the designer's costs, however should the initial visit lead to the purchase by the client of further design services, this charge will be refunded in full.
Design Services
The design process follows a number of stages.
These may be treated as a whole, followed in sequence to the ultimate completion of a designed space or alternatively they may be taken on a modular basis, dependent upon the client's needs.
Site Survey: The initial stage of a drawn design. Full measurements of the space are taken, along with a recording of land levels. A soil analysis is completed and an appraisal of existing garden stock including its condition is taken. The survey also considers the immediate surrounding area and local environmental conditions.
Design Drawings: Detailed, hand-drawn, scale drawings of a proposed garden design. This is based on the findings of the site survey, the information gained during the initial consultation and on the budget proposed by the client. Designs are offered up during a further meeting at which a full explanation of the plan is presented.
Planting Plans: Scale plans of suggested planting, based either on a completed design or on a client's existing space. This service is an inclusive element of Design Drawings.
Construction Drawings: Scale drawings detailing hard landscaping elements to enable the construction of such pieces either by the client or their contractor.
Full Specification Document: This document accompanies Design Drawings. They specify the materials and finish as recommended by the designer.
Post Design

Aftercare Pack: Following a design package, clients will receive a pack detailing maintenance advice and plant care.
Charges for all services are based upon the requirements of the project and the size of site.
